Bartender

ASM, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Bartenders at the Del Mar Fairgrounds & Racetrack for Premier Food Services, Inc. This is a seasonal position for this year's upcoming 2024 San Diego County Fair as well as Del Mar Thoroughbred Club's Summer Live Meet horse racing season. Must be able to work nights and weekends. Responsible for – Prepare, mix and serve drinks and beverages correctly to either customer directly or through serving staff. Entry level welcome to apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

greet customers and present beverage menusmake recommendations and answer all related inquiriescheck identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking agetake orders from serving staff or directly from customersrecord drink orders accurately into register systemprepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipespeel, slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.mix and garnish cocktails according to standard specsserve snacks to customers seated at the barupsell drink and snack items to customersrespond promptly to requests from customers in a polite and professional fashionattempt to limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking by following established proceduresprocess transactions using the POS systemprepare checks for customersprocess customer paymentsarrange glasses and bottles into attractive and functional displaysensure clean glasses, bar equipment and working areascomply with all health, safety and hygiene standards and policiesbalance the cash register at the start and close of each shiftmonitor inventoryorder and restock bar inventory

Must have RBS Certificate

Education and/or Experience        

High School Diploma preferred/ 2 Years’ Experience.

Skills and Abilities

minimum age requirement of 21 yearsworking knowledge of standard drink recipesworking knowledge of spirits, wine and beerunderstanding of classes of alcohol, different glasses, brand names and garnishmentsworking knowledge of bar equipmentknowledge and education in mixology an advantagenumeracy and cash-handling skillsable to work flexible schedulesable to work in a standing position for long periodsbe able to reach and bend and frequently lift up to 30 pounds

Compensation

This position's pay rate will be $16.30 per hour.
