We are looking for a reliable and talented part-time Barista to provide superb customer service to our guests at the Hyatt Centric-Arlington. Your duties will include ensuring top level customer service. You should also be able to resolve guest complaints and queries promptly and in a polite manner. To be successful as a Barista you must thrive in a fast-paced work environment, be able to work by themselves and as part of a team, and have detailed knowledge of different coffee drinks, and comply with, all food and beverage policies, procedures, and standards.
BASIC FUNCTION: The Barista is responsible for greeting and serving guest beverages and/or food in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest services.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.
Coffee House and/or Barista experience.
Cash handling experience.
Must be able to lift, pull and/or push 25lbs
Excellent communication skills and hospitality skills
Ability to read, write and speak clearly and accurately in English.
Must be able to work weekends
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Greet guests timely and professionally and take guest orders completely and accurately.
Set up and break down of coffee bar, daily
Brew, sell, promote and prepare orders according to company standards.
Make menu suggestions, and/or daily special options.
Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving any problems that may arise.
Maintain cleanliness of work area and maintain stock levels.
Knowledgeable of menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods.
Accurately total, process and collect payments from guests to include, but not limited to, handling money, processing credit/debit cards.
Adhere to company cash handling procedures.
Follow proper procedures for voids and reconciling register.
Ensure end of shift paperwork is balanced, neat and legible.
Requisition, stock and rotate products.
Familiar with hotel information in order to answer guest inquires.
Alert supervisor on duty of any guest issues that may arise.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Help out in other areas of food and beverage as needed.
Cleans and organizes the work area.
