Job Description
This person is a professional who is at the forefront of hosting banquet events. This person is responsible for the coordinator of food and beverage delvery for events held in the hotel. They are also responsible for maintaining the standards expected by management.
Responsibilities
+ This person will be responsible for organizing staff, scheduling, payroll, and training to provide excellent customer service.
+ Coordinates services with Culinary, Stewarding and other departments, ensures meeting rooms are set due to specifications, reviews BEO’s, attends meetings, ensure meeting are executed smoothly.
+ Assist in the effective training of staff and supervise them to ensure the Banquet Event Order(s) are followed meticulously; follow timelines and schedules strictly and effectively communicate any changes, requests, or challenges.
+ Attend BEO Meetings/ Resume Meetings, and/or any other designated meetings to review upcoming events and discuss best practices for execution
+ Collaborate with all Hotel Departments, such as Culinary, Stewarding, Sales & Catering, etc. to create a memorable and enjoyable event for hotel guests
+ Greet/welcome all hotel guest (s) and/or clients in a friendly, hospitable manner
+ Assist in coordination of Load-in of Catering and Banquet items
+ Problem solves any challenge or issue that arises, while maintaining professional integrity
+ Uphold Omni culture and the standards for a four-diamond property
+ Assist the Director of Banquets as instructed and/or in their absence
Qualifications
+ Must be able to lift 50 pounds, continuous walking throughout shift.
+ This person must be able to effectively communicate person to person, via phone and computer.
+ 3 years Food and Beverage management experience required. Prior experience working as a banquet manager, assistant banquet manager, or in the hotel industry
+ Food and Beverage management experience required.
+ In-depth understanding of the hospitality industry and its common practices
+ Impeccable decision-making skills and the ability to work long hours
+ Candidate must present Managers ServSafe Certifications and RAMP Certifications upon hire.
+ Candidate must be flexible with schedule and able to work all shifts including AM, PM, overnight, weekends and holidays
+ Managers are expected to work 50 hour work weeks. Hours may vary based on business demands
