Job Summary Position Overview: In this role, the Banquet Chef will supervise and actively participate in food preparation, quality assurance, physical maintenance, and inventory management to ensure high-quality standards, safety, and revenue goals are met. This role focuses on overseeing banquet and catering operations, ensuring that all events are executed to perfection while adhering to safety, quality, and cost controls. Key Responsibilities: + Assist in the creation of menus and recommend menu changes based on client preferences and operational needs. + Implement procedural and production changes to improve efficiency and quality. + Ensure compliance with all sanitation, Serve-Safe, and safety requirements. + Manage food service operations, including inventory management, ordering, and receiving. + Demonstrate proficiency in menu development, cost control, purchasing, and inventory management, with a focus on utilizing local food products. + Coordinate with other departments and clients to ensure seamless event execution. + Read and interpret Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and translate them into high-quality event services. + Communicate effectively with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met. + Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs. Qualifications: + Culinary degree required; Associate's degree preferred. + 3-5 years of relevant culinary experience, preferably in a high-volume production and catering environment. + Proven experience in catering management and a strong understanding of BEOs. + Extensive knowledge of food trends, catering practices, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and food presentation. + Experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in hotels, casinos, and event centers, is highly desirable. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients. + Ability to create menus and manage food operations efficiently and cost-effectively. Preferred Background: + Experience in hotel, casino, or event center catering management. + Proven ability to manage catering operations, including ordering, inventory control, and event-specific food preparations. + Strong menu writing and client interaction skills.
