This hotel is located in the exciting city of Providence and is attached to the Rhode Island Convention Center, Dunkin Donuts Convention Center, as well as the Providence Place Mall. Job Description

The Banquet Backwaiter sets up, brews and breaks down all aspects of brewing process in safe and efficient compliance with proper food handling, policies and procedures, brand standards, and federal, state and local regulations.  Promptly reports emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards to management.  Reports any deviations from policies, procedures, brand standards and regulations to management.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.

 

Responsibilities

 

Brew Coffee/Ice Tea according to events scheduled for each day and restock as needed be. Empty and clean all machines end of each work shift. Communicate with Banquet kitchen to ensure proper timing for food events. Deliver food from kitchen to necessary floors per events occurringComplete the distribution of plated meals to from Kitchen hotbox to Banquet Severing trays.Clean and mop the floors and working area before the end of each shift. Read and Understand Banquet Event Orders and Complete Requisition sheet for next event day to ensure proper preparation for events. On time and at work when scheduled, and in proper uniform.Attend department meetings as scheduled.Consistent professional and positive attitude and actions when communicating with guests, vendors and associatesReport any incidents of guest dissatisfaction or unusual matters of significance to manager / supervisor so that corrective measures may be taken.Comply with policies and procedures. Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary, safety, security and emergency procedures.  Write shift reports including reports on any incidents of theft, accidents or injuries when assigned.  Check with manager / supervisor before leaving work area for any reason.Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participate in task forces and committees as requested.Any other tasks / duties as requested by management. Qualifications Must be able to work nights/weekends/holidaysTIPS certification or equivilent requiredPast serving/restaurant experience preferredMust be able to stand for up to 8 hours per shiftMust be able to push/pull up to 150lbsExcellent customer service and communication skills required
