As Back End Software Developer you will:

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n

A successful candidate should be able to:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDevelops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.\r\n\tDevelops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.\r\n\tDevelops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.\r\n\tPerforms software project management and software supplier management functions.\r\n\tDevelops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics.\r\n\tExecutes and documents software research and development projects.\r\n\tServes as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.\r\n\tTracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.\r\n\tWorks under general direction.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Required Skills

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPrevious professional experience with Python, Go, PHP, C#, Java\r\n\tPrevious experience with developer tools: git, linting tools, IDEs, Linux, AWS infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes\r\n\tExperience and understanding of relational databases and the underlying principles associated with them: ACID, CAP, transactions, and the n+1 problem.\r\n\tUnderstanding what the pros and cons of framework abstractions related to the above\r\n\tNon-relational databases are not needed but could be beneficial\r\n\tUnderstanding of API development and abstraction of core business logic from external facing entities and frameworks\r\n\tUnderstanding of test driven development. This includes unit testing, integration testing, functional tests. Understanding of unit tests with mocked interfaces would be beneficial\r\n\tUnderstanding and experience with design patterns: MVC, SOLID, layered / tiered architecture and encapsulation of logic from interfaces\r\n\tUnderstanding of architectural patterns: Monolithic, Microservices, Serverless\r\n\tUnderstanding of object oriented design principles: Inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction, encapsulation\r\n\tUnderstanding of the back-end tech stack: Nginx, ASGI, WSGI, relational databases, API server development, working within a framework, AWS infrastructure (SQS, SNS, S3)\r\n\tAbility to generate UML documentation for traceability from design to implementation as part of the normal development process.\r\n\tUnderstanding and familiarity with CI/CD, tools involved in the process, and deployment of software applications\r\n\r\n\r\n

Education Requirements:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tEducation/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience)\r\n\r\n\r\n

Pay Rate: $80 to $83 per hour

\r\n\r\n
