Role Title:  AWS DevOps Cloud Platform Support Engineer
Role Type: 12 + months contract – good chance of extensions and/or perm rollover
Location: Remote with Monthly onsite in DMV local area  - candidates must be located in the LOCAL DMV area currently

W2 only for this assignment / C2C not available

PURPOSE:
DevOps and Cloud platform support - Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to support application deployments. Support cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS), EKS Kubernetes.


QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
8-10 + years overall experience
Minimum of 3+ years AWS DevOps experience
Experienced in AWS infrastructure, services, and best practices for managing cloud environments.
Technical knowledge of AWS managed services (VPC, EC2, EKS, RDS), including monitoring and analytics tools such as AWS CloudWatch
Expertise in Kubernetes (EKS) for container orchestration
Proven ability in application deployments, system administration, and maintaining CI/CD processes.
Experienced in scripting languages such as Python and Groovy; experience with Jenkins for automation and deployment pipelines.
Experience with Linux systems, load balancing, patching, troubleshooting, and software installations.
Strong teamwork and communication skills for collaborating with internal and external teams, including cloud engineers, DBAs, QA teams, and call centers.
Experience in quarterly release cycles and working within a deployment team to coordinate and manage releases.

Nice to Have: Familiarity with Java (not required, but beneficial).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
50% Installs, tunes, upgrades, troubleshoots, and maintains CI/CD pipelines, performs application release deployments in Test and Production environments. Submit change management tickets, represent on the CAB calls.

40% Write and maintain automation scripts in Python, Groovy to streamline operational processes and deployments. Collaborate with development and testing teams to enhance system scalability, performance, and reliability. Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows-based production environments. Support container orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.

10% Develop and implement techniques in CI/CD to prevent system problems, troubleshoots incidents to recover services and supports root cause analysis. Support disaster recovery and audits. Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in DevOps and cloud services.
