CGI has an immediate need for an AWS Data Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. • While this position must be located within a commutable distance to a CGI office, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

• Design and develop various on-going projects for migrating on-premises applications to the AWS Cloud.
• Working with Architecture team for design and implementation of Big & Fast Data Infrastructure on AWS cloud using Kafka, Glue, Athena, Redshift, DynamoDB.
• Guide other teams to design, develop, and deploy data sets and tools that support product use cases.
• Will be supporting DevOps and other PROD support teams
• Participate in technical design and choose the right tools such as AWS, Tomcat, WebLogic, and Spring Boot application
• Implement standards, processes, and controls for release and deployment activities in DevOps space
• Experience in (Maven, ANT, Shell), CI (Jenkins, Hudson, UCD, UCR) and automation (VM Ware, Puppet, ServerSpec, Chef, etc.)
• Experience in writing Docker files & creating images
• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Data Architecture & Engineering
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data lakes using AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, Redshift, and DynamoDB.
• Develop real-time and batch data processing solutions using Apache Spark, Kinesis, and Kafka.
• Optimize data storage, retrieval, and compute efficiency across AWS resources.
• ETL & Data Integration
• Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, Step Functions, or other orchestration tools.
• Integrate data from various sources (APIs, databases, third-party platforms) into centralized storage (e.g., S3, Redshift, or Snowflake).
• Implement data transformation and quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
• Data Governance & Security
• Enforce data security and compliance standards using AWS IAM, KMS, and Lake Formation.
• Implement data cataloging, lineage tracking, and metadata management with AWS Glue Data Catalog.
• Monitor, tune, and optimize query performance on Redshift, Athena, and other databases.
• Collaboration with stakeholders
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $74,600.00 - $146,900.00.
