The Role at a Glance
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Assistant Vice President to lead our Finance systems support team reporting into Corporate Finance. This is not a role within Information Technology but is a partner area to IT within Corporate Finance. The Finance System Support team is pivotal to maintaining the reliability and integrity of over 40 accounting and treasury systems within our organization. As the leader of a team of system analysts, you will drive operational excellence, manage on call support teams, monitor effective metrics, manage critical back-office functions, and foster a collaborative and high-performing culture. A key focus of this role will involve transformational work, evaluating current processes and systems to ensure the team’s operating model and processes align with long-term goals. You will play an integral part in partnering with internal stakeholders and external consultants to drive changes where needed. You will be a key leader in a future ERP system implementation and will drive change within the organization. This role includes after hours support activities.
What you'll be doing Lead a team responsible for first-level support across accounting and treasury systems, ensuring system availability and functionality. Be a key leader taking part in all project initiatives for your areas of ownership (Accounting/Treasury) including a future ERP implementation. Manage system maintenance activities, including coordinating with IT and external vendors for system checkouts, issue remediation, and updates. Oversee system access management, including setting up, auditing, and reviewing access to maintain security and compliance. Act as a subject matter expert and team resource for new functionality rollouts, project support, and system enhancement initiatives. Facilitate training programs for team members and system users to ensure smooth operation and system proficiency. Monitor and resolve work requests, ensuring all issues are addressed promptly and thoroughly. Evaluate and transform the current operating model, partnering with consultants to assess team structure, potential outsourcing, and system efficiencies. Drive strategic changes and ensure alignment between system operations and business objectives, ensuring scalability and long-term success. Mentor and coach team members, focusing on professional development and fostering a positive, inclusive team environment. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the team meets strategic business objectives and delivers consistent value. Directs the analysis of technology needs across the organization while simultaneously determining technological 'needs vs. wants', budget considerations, and timetable requirements. Develops and recommends adjustments as necessary. Directs and executes SOX and Security Assurance compliance for assigned area(s) of responsibility.What we’re looking for
Must-Haves:
4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of additional experience in lieu of Bachelor's). 10+ years of experience in financial systems management, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus. Proven experience in supporting accounting and treasury systems, ideally within a large corporate or insurance environment. Mandatory experience with ERP system implementation and/or ledger migrations. Strong understanding of system maintenance, system availability tasks, and system security protocols. Strong technical acumen with application systems to understand the technical components to effectively work with analysts and technical partners for all topics related to systems in your area of ownership. Experience in leading teams through operational change and system enhancements. Ability to collaborate across departments, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate with IT for seamless system support. Demonstrated success in driving transformational work, including evaluating and optimizing operational models, and making strategic recommendations for positive change. Strong skills in coaching, mentoring, and creating a culture of continuous improvement and positive team dynamics. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage change effectively and inspire confidence in team members. Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches. Agile mindset with a focus on problem-solving and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. The pay range for this position is $120,600 - $220,100 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
