Overview Reporting directly to the SVP, Head of Property, the AVP, Property Broker, will have a strong sense of accountability and will be responsible for supporting new business opportunities and driving organizational revenue growth. This practice places retail brokerage business with local carrier partners predominantly from US sourced submissions. How you'll make an impact • Account Servicing: o Compile underwriting submissions, advancing key information requested from brokers to underwriters. o Handle all queries from retail brokers, clients and underwriters, forging relationships with Bermuda carriers. o Broker submissions. o Assist the Senior Property broker on calls with underwriters and retail brokers to discuss renewal submissions and potential terms and conditions. o Assist the Senior Property Broker with deal structures such as shared and layer programs, identifying opportunities for new and renewal placements, as well as pursuing competitive capacity. o Perform all processes within the brokering/technical arena. o Oversee the preparation and issuance of appropriate coverage documentation, including wordings, endorsements and placement slips within agreed contract certainty deadlines; check wordings to ensure they are in line with renewal terms, follow up with retailers and underwriters to ensure terms are agreed upon. o Facilitate the resolution of service issues with insurers and other third-party providers. • Liaise with the Technical Assistant to ensure invoicing is managed in an efficient and timely manner. • File management including placing all renewal files on the shared drive to ensure the Property team maintains access to live data for renewal placements. • Data management including maintaining and filing of emails, creation of market sheets per risk and updating the risk tracker to record all submissions. • Providing updates/underlying to markets. • Attend broker calls in the absence of the SVP, Head of Property. • Audit support. • Project assistance when required. About you • 5+ years of recent broking experience. • 7+ years of recent and relevant insurance experience. • Familiarity with deal structures such as shared and layered programs is required. • Familiarity with Property Insurance is required. • High level of technical expertise is required. • Prior experience compiling underwriting submissions and understanding the key information requested from brokers to underwriters is required. • Experience of renewal process and submission needs. • Basic knowledge of key underwriting drivers on submissions. • Experience in reviewing slips, binders and policy wordings. • Ability to build and maintain client and market relationships to enable resolution of issues. • Due diligent process driver for deadlines, task focused, results orientated and takes initiative when assisting team members. • Understanding of London/US market appetite and knowledge on overall US Retail/Wholesale placements or equivalent markets is strongly preferred. • Strong planning and analytical skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
