**Job Description:**
**Department Overview:**
TD's Global Compliance Department is responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance across TDBG, working closely with the Chief Compliance Officer and partnering with Enterprise Risk Management, Regulatory Relations, Legal and other 2LOD functions to meet overall compliance strategic objectives. The Global Compliance Department sets the overarching department strategy and is accountable for developing and maintaining compliance programs including Risk Assessment, Issues Management, Frameworks and Procedures, Monitoring & Testing, Training, Communications, and Board Reporting. The team carries out independent monitoring and oversight activities, reports on the state of compliance to the Board and senior management, and provides advice and support to other Compliance Units as required.
**Job Details:**
The AVP, Compliance, Strategic Insights and Reporting reports to the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer (VP of Compliance Programs).
Individual Accountabilities:
• Responsible for all executive reporting including quarterly board reporting and the annual CCO opinion, and senior management reporting to various risk committees
• Develops and implements the annual reporting plan and strategy, including owning and updating the CCO reporting framework and procedure, and metrics guidelines
• Works closely with the Chief Compliance Officer and Deputy Chief Compliance Officer to design and develop new senior management reporting reflecting the state of compliance at TD
• Owns engagement across senior Compliance leadership to provide insights into key regulatory areas of focus, evolving, and emerging risks
• Anticipates emerging issues and trends and translates business and organizational challenges into sustainable strategic insights to support the CCO to manage risks and meet regulatory expectations
• Liaises with other compliance programs including risk assessment, issues management, and testing & monitoring and the data enablement team to ensure data and key messages are accurately captured
• Develops insights on key themes across compliance program on issues management and other metrics; works with metric owners to enhance existing metrics and design new metrics for senior management reporting
• Owns the escalation/reporting of all Compliance risk matters to Compliance leadership, including the CCO and Deputy CCO
• Maintains reporting tools, data sources, and continuously improves reporting processes with a view towards simplification and automation
• Leads reporting team of senior managers, managers, and senior analysts to develop insightful and forward-looking reporting for the CCO, CRO, and other TD executives
• Reviews all reporting for executive messaging, quality, and accuracy; design and implement processes to ensure high level of quality
• Support ongoing remediation efforts with reporting; work with quality assurance and audit as required to close issues
**Job Requirements:**
• Undergraduate degree required; Post Graduate degree preferred
• Excellent, executive-level communication and presentation skills, including public speaking/presentation skills and well developed listening and negotiation skills
• Strategic thinker: has excellent judgment and the ability to anticipate emerging trends
• 10-15+ years of relevant industry and management experience
• Expert in compliance regulations, strategies, and risk management; possesses and demonstrates expertise in the advisory, policy, change management, project management and operations
• Highest personal and professional integrity and standards to advance TD's vision and protect the brand
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• People leadership and management experience focused on talent development and coaching to nurture a high performing team
• Ability to operate in an evolving, sometimes ambiguous, matrixed environment.
• Demonstrates ability delivering on objectives, focuses on what matters and can work across silos to build effective working relationships
• Transparent communicator and respected TD representative, both internally and externally
