**Position Summary**
CVS Health is recruiting for an AVP, Application Operations and Availability. The AVP is a member of the CVS Technical Executive Leadership Team within the Office of the DDAT CDTO, and as such, fulfills the company purpose of helping people on their path to better health by driving technical execution and performance. Under the supervision of the Chief Digital and Technology Officer, the Technical Operations AVP will maintain a complementary balance between production support and proactive availability, performance, and resiliency management.
You will make an impact by:
+ Monitoring the health and performance of systems and applications, including setting up alerts to notify of any issues or anomalies.
+ Responding to incidents related to availability, performance, and resiliency promptly and effectively, diagnosing root causes, and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and impact on users. This position must work with other Enterprise teams to drive the necessary results.
+ Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with systems, applications, and related infrastructure to identify root causes and implement solutions.
+ Supporting and/or performing routine maintenance tasks such as applying patches, updates, and upgrades to ensure systems and applications are up to date and secure.
+ Maintaining comprehensive documentation including procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides to facilitate efficient support and knowledge transfer within the team.
+ Collaborating with development teams to address recurring issues, deploy fixes, and implement improvements to prevent future incidents.
+ Proactively identifying opportunities to optimize the performance and efficiency of systems and applications to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and improve user experience and implementing changes - such as such as tuning configurations, optimizing code, or upgrading hardware - to improve the performance and efficiency of systems and applications, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
+ Monitoring resource usage and forecasting future capacity requirements based on growth trends and usage patterns and implementing scalability measures to accommodate increased demand while maintaining performance and availability.
+ Managing changes to production environments, including reviewing and approving change requests, coordinating deployments, and conducting post-implementation reviews.
+ Collaborating with security teams to ensure that systems and applications meet security standards and compliance requirements, addressing any vulnerabilities or risks that could impact availability, performance, or resiliency.
+ Providing technical support and assistance to product and business groups acting as proxies to end-users experiencing issues with systems and applications, and escalating complex issues as needed.
+ Continuously evaluating and improving processes, tools, and technologies related to availability, performance, and resiliency to enhance system reliability, efficiency, resilience over time and to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of production support activities.
**Required Qualifications**
+ 10+ years overall in Technology leadership position, including P&L, POA and Site leadership.
+ 8+ years leading Technical Operations, including Datacenter operations, Disaster Recovery, Network Operations and Multi-Cloud/Hybrid installations.
+ 5+ years leading Reliability Engineering, Performance Engineering, Systems Engineering or related disciplines.
+ 5+ years in leading Systems Engineering, including related disciplines in Systems Architecture and Systems Design.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Prior experience in leading Information Security teams.
+ MBA and financial management, budgeting and capital planning experience.
+ Prior experience in ITIL framework.
+ AWS, Azure, GCP and Oracle cloud experience.

**Pay Range**
The typical pay range for this role is:
$185,400.00 - $376,000.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
