The Avian, Exotics, and Zoologic Medicine service offers high quality diagnostics and treatment for companion, avian, and exotic species. They also partner with public zoological parks and aquariums, as well as wildlife rehabilitators to provide care to wildlife. The unit consists of faculty, house officers, and dedicated technicians. It is housed within the small animal hospital with dedicated hospital space however works across campuses to meet patient needs. The Avian, Exotic, and Zoological Medicine Service is responsible for the management of the AEZ caseload within the Veterinary Health System ( VHS ) as well as collaborating with partners in the Rocky Mountain Region. This position will support both clinical and didactic teaching in the DVM program, graduate student/resident and fellow training, and research in the area of Avian, Exotic, and Zoological Medicine. The position also supports an important clinical service in the VHS both in terms of client service and revenue generation. This faculty position will provide up to 26 weeks of clinical service. Additionally, we expect the successful candidate will develop an independent impactful research program and participate in collaborative research.
