University IT (UIT) AVT Solutions team, part of the Business Affairs organization at Stanford University, is dedicated to delivering world-class service and technological solutions to advance research, teaching and learning, administration, and healthcare. Stanford University is expanding its Audio/Video (A/V) services, and we are looking for an AV Field Engineer who can excel in orchestrating and prioritizing timely deployment of multiple large A/V systems and equipment refresh projects in a fast pace and fluid environment.
This position reports to the Director of UIT AVT Solutions. The responsibilities center around client engagement, AV system consulting and implementation oversight, and ensuring the solution functions as intended, and meets the use cases for the venue. During the project, responsibilities include oversight for the installation and testing of the system, troubleshooting issues as they arise, facilitating client training and acceptance of the systems.
This is a hybrid-eligible position.
Core Responsibilities
Partner with supporting AV deployment resources e.g., service manager, project managers, system programmers and administrators, design engineers, network engineers, communication technology engineers, vendors and third-party integrators to develop the proposal and complete the project deliverables per scope, budget and schedule commitments. Collaborate and coordinate with architects, facilities engineers, interior designers to understand dependencies, and ensure the AV system aligns with their requirements and scope of work. Define and document standard installation guidelines of AV equipment to meet the University IT’s standards and specifications* Develop/update AV standards to ensure solutions address the current needs of the University* Evaluate product and evaluate potential suppliers, and act as the primary subject matter expert* Update and enforce best practices for installs, commissioning of systems. Serve as on-site SME for vendors (installation, electrical, programming) Final commissioning and testing of AV system Client training on system functions and limitations Conduct pre-install walkthrough to Identify potential issues. Validate new designs for documented project requirementsMinimum Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience. Specific experience in network design, implementation, analysis, and project management.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical individuals. Ability to remain calm, engage collaboratively and take action in ambiguous and stressful situations. Analytical troubleshooting skillsCertifications and Licenses:
CTS, CTS-I Certifications preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid California non-commercial Class C Driver’s License.

Work Standards
The expected pay range for this position is $123,408– $ 140,000 per annum.
