Compensation: $70-75/hour, DOELocation: Kermit, TXWork Schedule: 14/14 rotationAssignment Duration: 12 months+Benefits: Comprehensive insurance, 401(k) program, PTO & Holidays Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of facility commissioning with a focus on automation control systemsMaintain project schedules and timelinesActively participate in project meetings and design reviewsMaintain status reportsHave an advanced understanding of facilities equipment, process flow, and automation control systems and designs, including electrical systems, mechanical systems, software applications, data management, and network securityDevelop and validate automation programs to ensure compliance with engineering documentationUtilize software such as PLC Software (RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, DirectSoft5, ROCLINK 800/DS800), HMI programs (Red Lion Crimson, Factory Talk View, Panelview), and RTU programs for troubleshootingComplete redlines and documentation for automation engineering to support current As-Built post commissioningFollow the company’s Management of Change (MOC) processAdhere to Client program standardization and best practicesSupport operations and automation specialists with training on control system functionsTrain aspiring automation integrators on processes, programming, equipment, and documentationSupport low VAC devices, including transformers, breaker boxes, electrical switches, heaters, motors, and analyzersProvide basic repairs and troubleshooting for 120v AC power supply to automation systemsSupport troubleshooting of 480v and lower AC power availability and coordinate with the electrical team for necessary repairsCalibrate, troubleshoot, install, and manage automation end devices using Hart communicator and multimetersTroubleshoot Ethernet, serial, satellite, and wireless field communicationsEnsure alarms comply with Client standards and change control protocolsCommunicate project activities with Asset TeamsEvaluate new technologies and provide analyses of pros and consAct as a liaison between customers (operations) and Automation Engineering to assist in project design and operating philosophyParticipate in Client Process Improvement TeamsBe willing to travel as needed to support unassigned job areasBe willing to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and participate in an on-call rotationExhibit advanced teamwork and collaboration abilities, emphasizing safety for self, co-workers, contractors, and the public Qualifications 4-year technical degree (Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Control Systems, or related field) or equivalent work experienceAdvanced understanding of automation and electrical design principlesAdvanced knowledge and technical skills working with PLCs, HMIs, RTUs, EFMs, POCs, and automation end devicesIntermediate knowledge of technical standards and guidelines (API, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ISA, etc.)Advanced understanding of PSSRs and MOCsAdvanced understanding of automation systems and network connectionsAdvanced knowledge of digital and analog I/O, programming, and troubleshootingProficiency in analog and discrete instrumentation, serial and Ethernet communication protocolsExperience with tagging conventions, programming simulation, and testingExpertise in safe work systems and electrical/automation construction codes and practicesExtensive knowledge of automation equipment specifications and applicationsStrong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks within timelinesAbility to work under pressure and manage budgetsUnderstanding of gas engineering principles and gas measurement standardsProficiencies in leadership, mentoring, and trainingAdvanced communication skills (written, oral, and remote meetings)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows Operating Systems
