Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will represent the ATA Plant Automation team in various project phases, from development to post-implementation. You will work closely with key stakeholders, estimate resources, design and implement automation solutions, and ensure compliance with industry standards. This role requires strong expertise in Rockwell and DeltaV systems, as well as experience in GMP environments within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industries.

ResponsibilitiesRepresent the ATA Plant Automation team during the development of project plans, business cases, and cost estimates in collaboration with key customers and stakeholders.Work with Operations Information Systems (OIS) to estimate manhours and required resources based on project scope using the Manufacturing Information and Technology System (MITS).Participate in the preparation and implementation of detailed design, scope, and schedule in partnership with Engineering and Global Construction Project Management (GCPM).Implement new automation solutions including DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS), Rockwell Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.Provide post-implementation support, including operationalizing new assets, training system owners and the manufacturing team, revising SOPs and training documents, delivering spare parts lists, and updating asset management systems.Ensure compliance with operational standards, specifications, and procedures during project design and implementation.Support functional area projects focused on improving process equipment, utilities, and facilities, as well as integrating new drug substance and drug product manufacturing technologies.Conduct automation engineering assessments and implement system configuration changes for new product or technology introductions.Manage day-to-day support of ATO Drug substance operations.Promote a safe working environment by adhering to all relevant environmental health and safety practices, rules, and regulations.Be available for up to 10% domestic and international travel.Essential SkillsExpertise in coding from scratch and adjusting existing code in Rockwell or DeltaV systems.Experience in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environments.Strong understanding of pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industries.Additional Skills & QualificationsDoctorate degree with 2 years of experience, OR Master's degree with 6 years of experience, OR Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, OR Associate's degree with 10 years of experience, OR High school diploma/GED with 12 years of experience.Work Environment

You will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, utilizing advanced automation technologies. This role may require up to 10% domestic and international travel. Compliance with all pertinent environmental health and safety practices is mandatory.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $104000.00 - $135000.00/hr.
