Site Name: Cambridge Binney Street Posted Date: Feb 3 2025 Job Posting closing date: February 14, 2025 Job Title: Automation Engineer Location: Cambridge Binney Street Job Purpose This job exists to provide technical expertise and implementation resource for all automation and control systems activities on new and existing equipment and facilities, to provide support for Engineering and R&D members of the team and to make strategic decisions on situations within areas of expertise. Key Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring the delivery of automation aspects of capital projects to meet the agreed level of quality, cost and time. Responsible for the provision of support to existing automation systems to meet the needs of the business. Responsible for ensuring compliance with engineering standards relevant to the service provided. Responsible for engaging with external automation specialist companies engaged to deliver projects or provide service. Responsible for developing and delivering improvement strategies to deliver business benefits. Responsible for working at all times in line with current EHS legislation and GSK’s policies and procedures to maintain own, team and public safety. Responsible for contributing sound technical judgement into the site automation strategy as a member of the automation team. To act as an automation technical authority/SME on related matters where required. Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with the required skills to achieve our goals: Minimum of 3 years working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or supporting process environment. Experience in a wide array of Automation areas such as Control Systems, Instrumentation, Electrical Design, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Integration technologies Experience with Quality Management Systems and Regulatory Requirements (Safety and Quality) relevant to the site operations. Experience of computer/control system Validation (including GAMP methodology) in a highly regulated environment Experience in change management methodology and advocate of GPS principles. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Demonstrated coaching and development skills at both professional and shop floor level. Broad knowledge of the engineering professional environment and associated disciplines /skills.
