MISSION:   The objective of this position is to assist San Leandro operations in meeting its business and financial goals through identification and implementation of automation projects to impart process consistency. Implementation to include the controls aspect of any respective project tying into PCC-SL’s Ignition data base. The engineer’s performance will be measured on the ability to contribute to the plant operation’s P & L.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
•    Responsible for identifying and implementing automation projects that provide ROI on process stability measured by throughput and cost of quality metrics.  
•    Responsible for identifying and implementing controls projects on existing equipment and systems that provide ROI on process stability measured by throughput and cost of quality     metrics. 
•    Attack process yields using various data analysis techniques (statistical, mathematical, DOE, 6 Sigma, etc.) to uncover variables in the process that are not maintained in a     controlled fashion.
•    Assure all projects are in compliance with customer and/or regulatory requirements.
•    As required, update of procedural requirements and training of applicable operations staffing.
•    Execute pipeline (cost reduction) projects that result in annualized savings in accordance with  plant cost of goods sold metrics. 
•    Establish subject matter expert reputation with plant staff managers concerning process variability concerns and remedial action initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
•    A bachelor of science engineering degree is required; preferred areas of study are industrial, mechanical, or materials. 
•    PLC coding experience and background required. 
•    Computer literate; knowledge in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•    Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
•    CAD capability helpful, preferably SolidWorks experience 
•    Assertive, energetic, self-starting, risk-taker with the ability to break through historical barriers and paradigms for out-of-the-box, data driven problem solving techniques.
•    Tremendous desire to be a change leader by establishing proven results.
