Job Summary

Shambaugh is looking for an Auto Claims Assistant responsible for performing administrative duties related to vehicle accidents and losses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Record and maintain spreadsheets with regards to auto accidents. Collect all relevant information and evidence associated with vehicle accidents, including collection of documentation, securing photos and videos, written statements from relevant persons, insurance information, police reports, etc. General filing, prosecution, defense, and/or resolution of auto accidents. Work directly with employees, parent company, carriers, third party administrators, attorneys and insurance companies in processing auto accident claims. Upload documents, evidence, details, photos into third party auto accident third-party reporting company. Timely report the accident, assign a repair shop, if necessary, facilitate subrogation when possible and assure appropriate claims are submitted to the company third party insurance administrator when necessary. The candidate will work closely with the Risk and Claims Manager on repair approvals, total losses, and subrogations. Other duties as required

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent to work experience required. Job duties that required a high level of organization, attention to detail, and information processing. Candidate must have good customer service skills and be able to maintain confidentiality. Comfortable working with construction field personnel, as well as management and insurance and legal professionals. Willing to work off-hours when circumstances require. Drive to follow up and follow through from the start of an investigation to its conclusion. Ability to work independently. Amiable personality to work well with others and ability to motivate others to secure information you require. Comfortable speaking with people at all levels of the organization to collect information quickly and secure opinions if necessary. Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as Smartsheet. Committed to timely turnaround of information. Strong ability to pay close attention to details. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
