What you'll be doing:
The Internal Audit Manager will focus on leading/conducting audits in the areas such as general accounting, regulatory reporting, product control, liquidity management, capital management, and interest rate risk management under the direction of the Internal Audit Director. The Internal Audit Manager develops strong relationships with Finance and Treasury business partners to obtain an understanding of the risks facing the organization and stay close to new developments impacting the business. The Internal Audit Manager will also assist the Audit Director in mentoring and developing the Finance and Treasury Internal Audit team.

Demonstrate risk and control expertiseManage and execute complex audit engagementsEnsure audit engagement quality, including adherence to IIA and IA Department policies and proceduresLead complex, technical areas/issues, including planning, testing and vetting with managementPrepare meaningful, relevant, and well-supported audit reports Assist with managing the portfolio/engagements, including staffing, scheduling, and coordination with business partners, to ensure timely completionDevelop and cultivate relationships with senior management and other key internal contactsManage audit team personnel effectively through coaching and mentoring. Guide department personnel in their careers and providing learning opportunitiesAssist in the creation of the annual audit plan in collaboration with Internal Audit Department senior managementCoordinate with regulatory bodies and outside auditors, as necessaryLead Audit Seniors and Staff with a focus on creating a positive, inclusive work environmentWho you are:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is requiredProfessional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferredExperience working in an Internal Audit department (or public accounting firm) at a bank or financial institution or at a banking regulatory agency Strong knowledge of US banking regulationsExperience with Large Foreign Banking Organizations (LFBO) preferredExperience with auditing or managing liquidity risk, interest rate risk, and capital planning/adequacy processes preferred6+ years of relevant, progressive experience Big 4 or other professional services experience preferredAbility to work independently in areas of difficult or complex natureStrong project management skills, including the ability to manage shifting prioritiesStrong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills Ability to think strategically and provide independent perspectiveExemplify a positive attitude, strong work ethic, team work and professionalismAbility to travel (5%)Values matter to you. At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
