Summary:
The Audit Director directs and manages audit teams and activities for an assigned business unit (Commercial)
Duties & Responsibilities:
Determine, prioritize and monitor risk management.Ensure audit goals and objectives are met.Develop, implement and monitor audit test plans to ensure the adequacy of the system of internal controls, fair presentation of the financial statements, adherence to bank policies and procedures and compliance with governmental regulations.Directly manages a team of colleagues and managers, working to develop colleagues through goal setting, performance reviews and coaching.Directs and participates in special projects, management requested reviews, due diligence reviews, consulting engagements, and technical projects.Develops and implements a continuous auditing/monitoring mechanism to remain current on all issues impacting assigned area of responsibility.Serves as an effective business advisor to segment leadership.Provides support, coaching and guidance within the audit leadership team.Board and C-Level interaction.Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience managing/leading audit and/or risk teamsBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business-related fieldPreferred Qualifications:
Advanced degreeStrong technical skills and broad-based knowledge of accounting principles and audit policies, procedures, processes, systems and best practices and their applications to business operations.Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and, in particular, heightened standards concepts.Rigorous, analytical thinker who drives insights and seeks problem-solving opportunities.Articulate and crisp communicator with outstanding written and verbal presentation and influencing skills, a superior command of facts and details, and an ability to drive an agenda forward.Bringing a strong sense of urgency with an ability to maintain close attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.Ability to assess, upgrade, attract, retain, mentor, coach and develop top talent.Creative and forward thinking; able to envision and adapt to the future, and help position the organization to take advantage of evolving trends in the audit function.Energetic, resourceful and hands-on, exhibiting strong stamina and rigor within a highly results-drive culture.One or more audit-specific professional certification(s), such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Bank Auditor (CBA), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
