Audit & Compliance Manager, Transportation Risk and Compliance, Middle Mile

We are looking for an organized self-starter to join the Transportation Risk and Compliance (TRC) team at Amazon. This position will be based out of an Amazon corporate office, and requires the ability to travel periodically.
Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) have built world-class Middle Mile (MM) operations, which rely on an exceptional pool of carriers who work relentlessly to meet our customers’ expectations. TRC is looking for a high-judgment individual to join us as a Risk Manager, responsible for optimizing worldwide operational audit and monitoring processes, helping improve carriers’ compliance with laws and policies through innovative solutions, and driving a culture of compliance both internally and externally.
We are looking for an individual with strong audit experience, preferably in transport, who can apply their expertise to; 1) conduct thorough carrier assessments across different business models, 2) identify compliance, regulatory and reputational risks at carrier and control level, and propose risk-mitigation solutions, and 3) deliver detailed finding and recommendation reports for both carriers and business teams (e.g., Legal, Middle Mile Operations Management, etc.). The successful candidate will need exceptional investigation and attention to details aptitudes, as well as strong data-driven mindset and capabilities, and also excellent soft skills for building trustworthy relationships with stakeholders and carriers. Lastly, the successful candidate will display good team spirit and autonomy.

Key job responsibilities
• Assess Amazon Middle Mile Carriers, to verify that they operate compliantly with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements
• Provide precise assessment reports to carriers, with clear finding details, and actionable short/mid/long-term corrective and preventative action suggestions, thus helping them achieve and maintain compliance requirements
• Provide thorough finding and recommendation reports to senior management and business partners
• Investigate suspicious carrier activity and behavior that could pose a risk to Amazon, our customers, or the society at large.
• Meet individual and team goals with the highest standards and diligence
• Achieve assessment productivity and quality standards
• Lead and/or participate in special projects and/or assignments as necessary
