Summary of Role:

The Senior Community Engagement Manager will join Mainstream’s development team to design and implement effective community and stakeholder engagement initiatives during the development, construction and operational phases across our portfolio covering onshore and offshore renewable energy developments and transmission line projects.

 

What you will do?

·  Develop, implement and evaluate stakeholder engagement programs and project plans that aligns with Mainstream’s own goals and global company standards

·  Development and implement community engagement strategy and activities consistent with the demographic environment and stakeholders within the community across our portfolio of onshore, offshore and transmission line projects

·  Development and implementation of community benefit sharing programs and initiatives that maximize the local benefits (social, economic and environmental) of Mainstream’s renewable energy projects, tailored to the local context for each project. 

·  Map out the range of community groups, individuals and government agencies to ensure key influences surrounding Mainstream’s developments are well understood

·  Actively lead and regularly engage with landowners, neighbors, local communities and interested parties to build and maintain effective relationships

·  Work with First Nations representatives to identify opportunities for indigenous engagement and participation

·  Coordinate community meetings and stakeholder briefings to effectively gather feedback and input to improve outcomes for local communities

·  Liaise with internal / external resources to produce high quality content development for work notifications, newsletters, media releases, briefings, web content and external/internal stakeholder management reports

·  Respond to enquiries, complaints and requests for information from the community and stakeholders in a timely manner and ensure all engagement and communications with stakeholders is adequately recorded in the stakeholder engagement database

·  Maintain effective communication with all external stakeholders and relevant government agencies / authorities, including the project team, and prepare and present progress reports to senior management.

 

What we require?

·  Strong track record in community relations or stakeholder engagement in the development of renewable energy power projects

·  Significant renewable energy industry experience (5+ years) in Australia

·  Track record of interfacing with, and influencing internal managers across all functions of the business

·  Ability to think strategically using researched information and insights to communities to remove barriers for success

·  Demonstrable knowledge of the renewable energy industry, policy and regulations

·  Good understanding of the development process for renewable energy

·  Good knowledge of the conceptual design drivers influencing site selection & viability of utility scale renewable energy plant, such as energy resource effects, hub heights & power transmission system export potential

·  Strong organization and planning skills

·  Ability and willingness to work effectively independently and in a team environment

·  Able to maintain the respect and confidence of team members

·  A self-starter with a "can-do" attitude who demonstrates hands-on accountability for their area of responsibility

·  Excellent persuasion skills, a good networker and a good negotiator with external stakeholders

·  Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

·  Ability to use Microsoft software packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook is essential

·  Driver’s license required
