Job Summary

This is a full-time, remote position in which the candidate will design and detail interior spaces, exhibit displays, site plans, and facade designs for a wide range of attraction projects within the Ripley brand. Must be able to develop creative, technical and original solutions that are on time and in budget. The candidate will work closely with the Creative Team, Exhibit and Archive Department, Interactive Technicians and Project Managers. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently but also thrives in a team environment.

 

Requirements5-10 years of relevant work experienceStrong knowledge of the attractions, location-based entertainment and/or museum industryBachelor's Degree in architecture, interior design or related fieldAdvanced skills in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator and Sketchup.Graphic design skills with a focus on environmental and signage designBackground in master planning, exhibit design, and/or attraction design.Understanding of environmental aspects of design: light, sound, color, texture, pattern, etc.Experience and passion for conceptualizing and creating fun and interactive spacesUnderstanding of child & adult behaviors as it relates to engagement and safetyKnowledge of construction practicesExperience reading and understanding plans and building scale drawingsAbility to take constructive criticism and follow directionProfessional and positive with a strong work ethicAbility to travel (within the U.S.)

 

Responsibilities and DutiesDevelop construction documentation and shop drawings for design-build projectsDevelop preliminary concept designs and presentationsAnswer questions regarding drawings in a professional mannerCoordinate drawings with on-site modifications and/or structural engineeringWork on multiple projects at once and adjust to changing prioritiesPlusesHand-drawing skills, concept sketchesUnderstanding and/or knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, etc.Casework and furniture design detailing
