A.T. Still University (ATSU) is actively seeking a full-time, non-exempt Skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated team on the St. Louis, Missouri campus. This essential role, reporting to the Assistant Director of Facilities within Plant Operations, is responsible for a wide array of tasks, encompassing general construction, project work, and minor/intermediate/major maintenance and repairs. These activities span across various areas of the ATSU Kirksville campus, including classrooms, administrative offices, research labs, patient care facilities, mechanical rooms, roofs, student housing, athletic areas, and outdoor spaces.

Major Job Duties
Perform general construction, project work, minor, intermediate, and major maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities throughout the ATSU St. Louis campus in areas that include but are not limited to patient care, classrooms, administrative offices, mechanical rooms, roofs, meeting rooms and outdoor spaces. Utilize advanced skills and experience to troubleshoot simple and complex issues with building systems including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, mechanical, roofing, masonry, painting, carpentry, and locksmithing in support of university daily operations. Perform routine and emergency repairs, maintenance, and preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing building systems. Assess and analyze issues with building systems and perform necessary repairs. Respond to service requests from building occupants in a timely manner. Respond to service requests from building occupants in a respectful and timely manner, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment. Perform electronic record keeping related to work requests. Operate university vehicles and responsible for safe operation and reporting any observed maintenance needs. Refuel university vehicles after use when necessary. Performs other duties as assigned. Respond to building emergencies, including occasional nights and weekends when necessary. Assist with snow removal and building-related tasks during periods of inclement weather, ensuring a safe and accessible environment for all.Judgement/Decision Making

Must have previous maintenance and/or general construction experience.Experience
Experience in trades work including but limited to: electrical, HVAC refrigeration, code requirements, plumbing, painting, carpentry, masonry, roofing, locksmithing. Ability to operate common power tools in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to work independently. Ability to layout complete jobs efficiently. Ability to select appropriate materials for the job. Professional finishing skills including finish carpentry, sheet rock and painting. Specialized skills in addition to Skilled General Maintenance. For example: brick/masonry work, locksmithing, or concrete finishing work. Ability to read and understand building drawings. Basic computer skills (i.e. researching vendors/suppliers).Equipment
Experience using a variety of facilities and construction equipment including but not limited to hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and pallet jacks. Experience operating complex machinery and equipment. Experience operating a work utility vehicle and trailers. Have a valid driver's license.Personal Characteristics/Traits

Repair, maintenance, and construction inside and outside of buildings including but not limited to working in ceilings, closets, walls, floors, stairwells, mechanical rooms, outside and on rooftops of buildings.
