The Associate Vice President (AVP) for Finance leads a portfolio of revenue-generating units and e-Commerce activities. The AVP is charged with providing vision, oversight, direction, and leadership for finance office, ensuring the effective management and efficient operation of these service operations in manners that best support and serve the university's varied constituents, its mission, and its strategic priorities while encouraging and supporting an entrepreneurial spirit to revenue generation. The AVP reports to the Vice President for Finance & Auxiliary Services/CFO. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** Assists the Vice President of Finance in the following areas: + Supports overall strategic and operational activities for the Finance Services units ensuring the delivery of a comprehensive array of business and infrastructure services that fulfill institutional goals, priorities, and strategic planning. + Drives innovation and transformational change to support achievement of strategic outcomes and revenue optimization. + Develops and implements programs, policies, and initiatives, which contribute to an exceptional student and customer experience. + Provides leadership in improving processes that enhance collaboration and service delivery to University departments and functions responsible for finance and administrative services. + Reviews and analyzes departmental budgets, provides leadership and direction for engaging stakeholders participating in support of fiscal priorities, participates in prioritizing budget requests, presents budget recommendation + Ensures the overall performance (financial, service, productivity) of departments. + Develops a revenue projection plan that addresses future enrollment growth, staffing growth, sources of revenue including tuition, state support and district assessed valuation changes to address operational and capital expenditures. + Facilitates the ongoing development of short- and long-term capital improvement plans for the district. + Establishes a culture of accountability and ownership, by establishing the vision, strategy and departmental goals. + Builds a strong working partnership with key university leaders to encourage and develop revenue-generating activities. + Develops a communications and outreach strategy that builds confidence and cultivates strong relationships and collaboration across the university that in turns helps the university community understand, embrace, and support new directions. + Creates a service culture that is responsive and rooted in customer service, operational excellence, and revenue optimization, sets goals, and focused on outcomes for customers. + Creates a positive work environment, incorporating the university's commitment to equal opportunity and recruitment, retention, and promotion of a diverse workforce, empowering employees to use their full range of talents and abilities. + Collaborates with campus and external partners to develop robust e-Commerce platforms, which support and encourage revenue-generating activities. + Enhances employee engagement, drives, and supports the development of action plans to address issues. + Frequency of assignment, function, duty, and responsibility may adjust as needed to support departmental and/or institutional needs. + Work collaboratively with external stakeholders to carry out the strategic plan and _Mission_ of the University. **Skills and Abilities:** + Accounting and financial statement analysis, organizational, communication and supervisory skills. + Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing environment. + Demonstrated leadership in implementing technology to support organizational strategies. + Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board regulations (GASB). **Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field. + Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible management experience overseeing and administering finance, business and support operations, and supervision with at least two (2) years of senior level experience. + Previous experience and a successful record of accomplishment in management and leadership positions. + Certified Public Accountant. Five (5) years of increasingly responsible management experience overseeing and administering finance, business and support operations, and supervision. + Masters of Business Administration preferred.
