University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.

 

The Associate Vice President, Advancement Services and Analytics will lead and shape the Advancement and Technology teams at University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR). Oversee the functions of Gift Administration, Business Intelligence and Analytics (BIA), and Information Technology in support of global university fundraising programs and campaigns at New York University (NYU). As the chief information architect for UDAR, drive the technology agenda aligning hardware and software with strategic organizational priorities, including quality control, testing, training standards, programming and services. Lead teams to achieve continuous quality improvement, seamless integration of systems and procedures with strategic partners, and transparency. Design and integrate business intelligence systems and processes that support all campaign fundraising activities, goals and objectives of UDAR. Create strategy for donor experience and support the fundraising process while driving favorable outcomes. Oversee university-wide gift administration for pledges and gifts, and ensure compliance with internal and external policies and federal and state laws. In partnership with Senior Leadership, this role shall support the ambitious fundraising efforts at NYU.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
10+ years development or relevant experience

Proven record of managing multiple and complex departments

Demonstrated analytical, project design/management, and creative problem solving skills

Proven research and analytical techniques

Strong administrative and human resources management skills, and strategic planning and implementation skills

Experience in establishing performance metrics, evaluating performance outcomes, and implementing performance improvement strategies

Preferred Experience:
Professional experience in an academic environment

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational and writing skills

Commitment to high performance and teamwork

Proven ability and desire to reach increasing goals

Familiarity with best practices and effective options for leading support departments in a fundraising environment

Ability to successfully navigate a complex and highly matrix environment

Ability to manage multiple strategies and tactics to motivate and influence employees and annual results

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Ability to impart understanding of complicated ideas and statistics in a clear and simple manner to a wide variety of stakeholders, from frontline staff to University Leadership

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience using advanced statistical software/programming tools and languages

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $250,000.00 to USD $300,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
