**The Opportunity**
This position works out of our **Abbott Park, IL** (Lake Bluff, IL) location in the Core Diagnostics Division. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.
As the **Associate Validation Specialist** , you’ll conduct quality-related activities to deliver consistent, high-quality documents, services, products, and processes.
**What You’ll Work On**
+ Interacts constructively with employees, managers, and cross-functional peers.
+ Completes compliant documentation and provides solutions to local problems of low scope and complexity.
+ Supports project work and acts as community member.
+ Quality System Compliance - Maintains awareness of industry regulatory standards.
+ Ensures compliance to site level policies and procedures by promptly reporting non-compliance issues to the department manager.
+ Works effectively within the team.
+ Risk Management - Applies basic Risk Management principles to work.
+ Complaint Evaluation - Investigates standard complaints.
+ Design Control / Documentation & Change Control - Identifies needs.
+ Provides reasons and justifications in support of change.
+ General - Budgets own time to carry out assigned duties that support business goals.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Engineering, or closely related discipline; Or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
+ Minimum 1 year quality or related field experience preferred.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Demonstrates basic understanding of regulatory requirements in the healthcare environment.
+ Experience with facility/utility/equipment/software qualifications and/or process/cleaning/test method validations.
+ Demonstrates understanding of how their function supports the business. Demonstrates technical and business competencies that drive results and continuous improvement.
+ Analytical/critical thinking and risk-based decision making.
+ Ability to manage own tasks in a dynamic work environment.

The base pay for this position is $54,000.00 – $108,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
