Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Scientist II to join our dynamic R&D team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field and will be responsible for designing and executing experiments, maintaining cell cultures, and contributing to the commercialization of new products.
ResponsibilitiesDesign experimental plans with guidance, execute experiments, analyze experimental data, generate laboratory protocols, and contribute to technical reports and product summaries.Provide direct support in the maintenance of adherent and suspension cell cultures, media/feed/supplement preparation, and operation of bench scale bioreactors.Work on problems of moderate scope, requiring evaluation of various factors.Troubleshoot and solve problems in the design and execution of development projects.Exhibit creativity in selecting approaches and techniques for obtaining solutions.Maintain accurate lab notebooks to support protection of intellectual property in accordance with relevant required standards.Present data internally and contribute to external publications when appropriate.Interact with internal departments in the commercialization of new products.Comply with all company safety, training, and quality regulations and procedures.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology/Biomedical engineering, or a related field with 2 years of experience in a manufacturing/lab environment.Demonstrated proficiency in small scale mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique.Outstanding problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Ability to excel in a fast-paced research environment and deliver detailed results.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrior industrial experience, particularly in process development and/or cell culture media formulation.Proficiency in microbiology and virus handling/infectivity techniques.Knowledge or experience with biocontainment facilities and procedures, laboratory safety, and decontamination.Experience with statistical experimental design and performance of DOE studies.Familiarity with operation of bench-top stirred tank bioreactors or fermentation equipment.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
