(Associate) Scientific Editor, Molecular Cell

In support of our portfolio of 2700+ hybrid and open access scientific journals, you will actively contribute to advancing science, improving health outcomes, and fostering equitable participation in publishing. About the Role As a member of the Molecular Cell team, you would help publish the best research in molecular biology. We are looking for candidates with great communication skills and research experience in one or more of the topics published in Molecular Cell. See our Aims and Scope - https://www.cell.com/molecular-cell/aims. This is a full-time editorial position that would be based in either Beijing or Shanghai. Responsibilities + Assessing submissions and overseeing the peer review and editorial process + Recruiting exciting research studies, and commissioning and managing a pipeline of high-quality reviews and editorial content + Establishing relationships with researchers and representing the journal and Cell Press at scientific meetings and visits to research institutions + Contributing to broader Cell Press initiatives to shape the future of science communication Requirements + A Ph.D. in any area related to molecular biology + Ability to think critically about a wide range of scientific issues + Strong communication skills + Interest in engaging with the scientific community + Talent for distilling complex concepts and communicating them + Ability to work well in diverse team settings + Strong time management and organizational skills + We would expect at least two years of prior editorial experience for Scientific Editor level, while no prior editorial experience would be necessary for the Associate Scientific Editor level Work in a way that works for you We promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation.
