Your role and responsibilities

Join us as Associate Project Manager for the Electrification Business Area where you will be leading the execution of small projects with low complexity and ensures that all related activities are executed in accordance with company procedures, relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards, contract specifications, quality standards, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, cost/profitability targets, and scheduling targets. Includes Project Managers assigned to small projects in the service business.The work model for the role is: #LI-onsite, #LI-hybridThis role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solution Business (Medium Voltage) based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. You will be mainly accountable for:•\tLeading the project team allocated to the project. Motivating and monitoring internal and external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones.•\tMonitoring and controlling project progress effectively and efficient resource utilization. Monitoring and controlling project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses, and cash flow.•\tDriving the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out, and acknowledgment by the customer, all in accordance with the contract.•\tEnsuring that the project consistently applies contract and claims management in accordance with ABB policies and contractual agreements. Coordinating with Supply Chain Management and successfully procures required services, materials, and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers. •\tBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicates with all stakeholders. Acts as the key contact for the customer and an escalation point for projects.•\tCreating project, HSE plans and ensuring that common HSE policies and reporting are implemented across the project with all stakeholders, including collaboration/consortium partners and sub-suppliers. Demonstrating unique actions/initiatives to support site safety and ensures consistent HSE performance.•\tDefining and applying basic project scheduling techniques to manage schedule risks proactively to avoid possible future schedule deviations with On Time Delivery (OTD) impact.•\tTracking progress and updating schedules regularly to reflect project changes and working progress and escalating deviations according to local guidelines.

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.At least 5 years of experience in Project Management for electrical power project.Good hold on MS Office applications i.e. MS Project, MS Excel.Good at integrity, strong leadership, achievement, collaboration, external focus required.Ability to manage conflict management, negotiation, problem solving and decision making with self-control skills required.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Product experience in medium voltage switchgear, protection relay or distribution solutions product portfolio will be an added advantage.
