Your role and responsibilities

•\tProject Planning and Scheduling•\tPlans, monitors and controls project activities, proactively to maximize cash flow.•\tUnderstands critical path scheduling and assures a minimum but sufficient project float.•\tActively strives to optimize overall resource planning and utilization considering resources within the local organization.•\tAssures a valid Project Safety plan is in place.•\tConsiders close out activities and influences for an early close out.•\tIdentifies and shares lessons learned. •\tCustomer Satisfaction Management in Projects•\tAssures ABB commitments to customer are met, in accordance with contract.•\tAssures and seeks to improve customer satisfaction and feedback through consistent customer interaction, e.g. Communication, (phone, e-mail, etc.) and Customer meetings, kick off, review, surveys etc.•\tWorks proactively to set customer expectation to assure a smooth project including acceptance of project deliveries and timely payment even under challenging circumstances.•\tEncourages openness & respect, and build trust, confidence & loyalty with customers and partners.•\tPromotes healthy work-life balance within the project team. •\tProject Financial and Cost Management•\tUnderstands and use Full Cost Calculation/Model and different revenue recognition methods.•\tUnderstands project exposure•\tControls project cost and cash flow•\tInfluences project expenditures to maximize cash flow. •\tAssures and follow up timely invoicing.•\tLegal and Contract Management for Projects•\tUnderstands ABB’s standard terms and conditions and the impact upon the contract of differing and/or additionally accepted terms and conditions.•\tUnderstands project specific accepted terms and conditions and their application to project contracts, including awareness of risks of negative impact on margin, performance and risk factors.•\tUtilizes contract terms and conditions to maximize cash-flow, margin and to limit liabilities, e.g. through insurance.•\tProject Reporting•\tForthrightly presents an account of project status/issues in project reviews.•\tReports status/ progress to customer and other stake holders with appropriate detail for desired understanding, e.g. to assure payment, set expectation, etc.•\tRaises potential project issues to relevant stake holders.•\tEffectively reports project progress or other situations either verbally or in writing to assure desired understanding. •\tScope and Change Management for Projects•\tUtilizes negotiation skills for scope and change management.•\tIs on top of scope including the possible overall impact of what may seem to be minor changes•\tNegotiates change orders and additional sales.•\tActively pursues desired changes in order to obtain additional sales, increase margin and to lower risk exposure. •\tProject Risk and Opportunity Management•\tUnderstands risks as well as what may be causing a change in risk exposure and actions to avoid/mitigate.•\tUnderstands opportunities and how to take advantage of them.•\tIdentifies and mitigates risks associated with important aspects such as Health and Safety.•\tProactively pursues decided upon mitigation efforts for identified risks.•\tIdentifies and act upon new risks and opportunities as they occur.•\tAssures avoidance/mitigation of liquidated damages and other penalties/claims.•\tProcurement Management for Projects•\tWork actively with a number of suppliers to obtain overall best possible purchase, in cooperation with the supply management function.•\tCoordinates/directs project transportation and logistics.•\tReviews status of critical suppliers’ progress and include in overall schedule.•\tInitiates 3rd party inspections as required.•\tEnsures the proper application of ABB’s supplier qualification process.•\tEnsures correct timing for procurements

Qualifications for the role

\tWillingness to commit to achieve company goals and wide long-perspective personal development attitude within ABB are the first prerequisites.\tGood, analytical decision making and problem solving skills are mandatory requirements, as well as ability to quickly adapt to changing situations and work under pressure of them.\tProject management capability and understanding of wider perspective to see ones own contribution from the viewpoint of the whole is needed on successful performance. Professional personnel management, coaching and excellent team leading abilities are prerequisites to meet goals set to the role.\tTechnical education, Bachelor’s Degree in engineering with subject of mechanical, electrical or other relevant industrial engineering.\tUnderstanding of technical project environment and the importance of being the key supplier to the end customer.\tThe successful candidate has at least 2 years of work experience from project business; international work experience and background in a western based company are highly valued. Continuous employment period longer than 2 years for one company is preferred.\tExperience in the marine business will be preferred.\tFamiliar with the use of MS Office tools. Experience from MS Project, SAP or other ERP system is required.\tFluent English is required both written and spoken. Good, captivating and to-the-point output in daily communication, as well as in negotiations and presentations.\tMainly domestic. Highly depending on projects appointed to.
