SCHOOL OF THERAPEUTIC SCIENCES
The School of Therapeutic Sciences is a research-driven and productive School in the Faculty of Health Sciences. We are seeking an Associate Professor (a 40% post) to join our team to work on the Norwegian Programme for Capacity Development in Higher Education and Research for Development (NORHED II) project. The NORHED project is a partnership between the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway, the Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences (KUSMS), Nepal, the Kathmandu School of Medical Science (KMC), Nepal and the University of Witwatersrand (WITS), Johannesburg, South Africa. The project's primary purpose is to strengthen academic capacity in physiotherapy education in Nepal. The position also includes working with the staff and the Nursing Department, in particular, to enhance research productivity.





Brief DescriptionDuties:
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing activities aimed at: Strengthening academic capacity in physiotherapy education in Nepal Assess the need for and develop an appropriate supervisor capacity development course for Nepal Assisting in establishing a Master's program in physiotherapy Establishing a quality system for physiotherapy educational programs (Masters and PhD) Mentoring of staff in postgraduate supervision Working with the School of Therapeutic Sciences and, in particular, mentoring the Nursing Department staff to improve research productivity. Writing a project report based on the work done, gaps addressed and the outcomes of the project

Minimum Qualifications:
A PhD in Physiotherapy At least 10 years of teaching experience at the tertiary level evidence of curriculum innovation and development Extensive research experience with a minimum of 20 publications Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision (at least 4 PhD and 10 Masters students supervised to completion) Evidence of grantsmanship Evidence of faculty/university level administration Experience in research development and managing research development

Remuneration:
Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience pegged at 40% of the post.
