$425,000 - $550,000
**Description**
The Division of Bariatric/GI Surgery of the Department of Surgery at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry located at Highland Hospital is seeking a board certified, experienced, academic general and bariatric surgeon to join the division at an Assistant/Associate Professor level. The division currently consists of four faculty members with a scope of practice spanning all aspects of bariatric, GI, and general surgery. The incoming surgeon will see patients and perform surgery at both Highland Hospital and Strong Memorial Hospital.
The U of R is located in Rochester, New York and is surrounded by world class culture, affordable housing and nationally ranked public schools. The City of Rochester is a mecca for the arts: home to a philharmonic orchestra, wonderful museums including the Strong National Museum of Play, internationally recognized dance companies as well as The Eastman School of Music. The Rochester International Jazz Festival is one of the top 10 Jazz festivals in the nation. The region boasts access to great watersports both on Lake Ontario as well as the Finger Lakes. The Finger Lakes region is also home to many internationally known wineries. Rochester has a rich history and was the last step on the underground railroad and the place Frederick Douglas called home. It is also the location of the Susan B. Anthony House making Rochester the epicenter of the woman’s suffrage movement.

**Qualifications**
Candidates must have completed medical school receiving an MD or equivalent and completed a full surgical training residency program and have passed standardized proficiency testing. Must be eligible for a full NYS medical license.

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process
