The primary focus of our Commercial Strategy Team is to lead the development and execution of our commercial business plan for our Cereal brands in the U.S. through cross-functional collaboration, increased direct connectivity with Sales, and seamless integration of the voice of the customer. As the Associate Manager for Commercial Strategy Innovation, you will help bring to life our Customer Business plans by developing and deploying IRCs, displays, plannable material codes, and food/graphic samples. You will also be presenting innovation to customers and reporting innovation performance to leadership.
This is a Hybrid role that requires the incumbent to live within sixty miles of the Battle Creek, Michigan Headquarter Office. This job requires some travel (up to 25%).
Here's what you’ll be doing:
Lead Projects for Customer Business Plans: being pro-active, collaborative, multitasking, and having great organizational skills are keys to success
+ You will be the innovation team lead for WKKC’s Annual Customer Business Plan, leading a collaborative cross functional effort semi-annually to grocery and mass customers
+ Strategically create, activate, and deploy display vehicles by understanding and utilizing systems and in market results, partnering with the sales field and supply chain, and leading project timelines
+ Lead scope development for new product development requests and ensure systems reflect project scope and timelines
+ Maintaining up to date information on sales materials (Customer Business Plans)
Customer Presentations, Sales Analytics, and Storytelling: Using a wide range of advanced analytics to drive meaning and action from rich datasets will be critical for success.
+ Develop customer presentations by working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including supply chain, category management, marketing, finance, and revenue management.
+ Develop customer sales strategies and present to customers with ambition of driving mutually beneficial volume objectives, promotional plans, and value
+ Includes joint business planning as well as on-going activities throughout the year to support that plan.
+ Maintain and enhance weekly & monthly tracking reports, including sales trends, promotional performance & new item analyses
+ Develop and deliver ad-hoc business reports to address time sensitive questions and support decision making
+ Present data in an accurate, clear, concise, and visually compelling manner to internal and external stakeholders
Vendor and Agency Management : partner with 3rd parties to ensure the best possible execution and ROI.
+ Lead the IRC development and deployment semi-annually, by partnering with finance, supply chain, and sales leads.
+ Own the innovation sales sample process, budget, and availability with 3rd party vendors to ensure WKKC sales teams are set up for successful sell in.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:
Required:
+ Bachelor’s Degree is required
+ At least 2+ years of CPG Sales or Marketing experience
+ Proven efficiency working in Microsoft Excel (Must be able to create Pivot tables, use V-Lookup, and be proficient in other Excel applications)
+ Experience in an analytical role and using data sources (i.e. Nielsen, IRI/Circana, Excel, Shipment Data (BW, TPM) and Point of Sale (POS) data preferred)
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced expertise in Excel and experience building PowerPoint presentations
+ Ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities, extended work schedules and specific time constraints
Demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly
Bonus Points:
+ Master’s Degree
+ 5+ years of experience in CPG sales and marketing roles
+ Direct customer selling experience
+ Proven ability to think strategically, creatively, and executional in developing commercial strategies, tactics and initiatives that may vary across different channels
+ Ability to create and present compelling narratives through fact-based content, visualizations & imagery to external customers.
Compensation Insights:
Salary Range: $88,600.00 -$116,400.00
Position is bonus eligible
