The Truist Legal Department is seeking an attorney with broad expertise in bank regulatory matters, with deep experience in resolution planning, capital, and liquidity. The candidate will need to maintain strong, productive relationships with key internal clients while serving as a trusted legal advisor, legal risk manager, and business partner.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.**
1. Serve as legal liaison, and provide a broad range of legal and regulatory support to, various Truist business units, in particular Capital Adequacy and Resolution Planning
2. Responsible for assessing legal risk, providing legal advice, and/or assisting in resolving legal problems which may represent potential exposure to the company. Serve as a technical expert in the development of Truist’s resolution plans, including the full and targeted resolution plans submitted to the Federal Reserve and FDIC, and the full and supplemental IDI resolution plans submitted to the FDIC.
3. Remain abreast of legislative, regulatory, legal, and other industry developments within areas of subject-matter expertise
4. Assist in developing resolution planning strategy and advise on specific elements of Truist’s resolution plans including divestitures, asset sales, intellectual property rights, intercompany agreements, and sensitivity analyses, among other things.
5. Determine whether Truist’s resolution plans satisfy relevant legal standards.
6. Work on other projects, including in the areas of capital, stress testing, liquidity, and long-term debt; and
7. Coordinate with external counsel and industry trade groups.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Required Qualifications:**

1. Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and licensed to practice law in good standing
2. 8 years of post-bar experience in a law firm, government, and/or corporate settings.
3. Possess superior written and verbal communication skills
4. Ability to prioritize matters, utilize time management skills, and move between matters fluidly
5. Ability to handle a heavy workload, manage stress effectively and meet critical deadlines
6. Able to work autonomously without close supervision
7. Team-oriented mentality and excellent interpersonal skills
8. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
**Preferred Qualifications:**
1. Strong preference for experience in federal government, a financial institution legal department, or law firm, having held positions of advancing responsibility
2. Extensive subject-matter knowledge in resolution planning, along with capital and liquidity
3 Subject-matter knowledge of other federal banking laws and regulations, including consumer protection laws, to which Truist is subject
4. Experience working with applicable state banking laws and regulations
5. Willingness to learn and adapt to new and emerging areas of law
6. Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills with experience handling confidential supervisory information (CSI) and other highly sensitive and privileged information
7. Highly collaborative and comfortable working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment within a large, complex corporation
********The annual base salary for this position is $140,000 - $180,000.******
