The Opportunity
Arup Façades is an enthusiastic, energetic, multi-disciplinary team of façade designers. It includes engineers, technical specialists, building physicists and architects, all of whom share a passionate interest in cladding design. We are a leading dedicated façade consultancy, both nationally and internationally. Our creativity and technical expertise allow us to take on ambitious projects that few companies can deliver. We offer a depth and range of technical skills including specialist glass and building physics engineering. We have global forums to share technical advice and access to the latest software and technical documentation. We work closely with other specialists; Materials Consulting, Advanced Technology and Research, Fire Engineering and Acoustics. We are looking for an Associate / Principal level Façade Engineer with excellent design, technical, and software skills who enjoys working collaboratively in multi-professional design teams, supporting on projects from inception to completion to achieve outstanding results.
The role will comprise of the following:
Leadership of Facade projects - project management including delivery and commercial aspects, design and technical leadership, responsibility for delivering facade scope, day to day liaison on the project Assist with Commercial leadership - support the facade team commercial leader in a wide range of ways and develop advanced commercial skills. Line Manager and assist cluster leadership - line management and leadership of a number of facade team members and acting as a deputy as a , working with the line managers, assisting with checking allocation of work to the Work winning and bidding - identification of suitable opportunities, development of proposals and associated collateral, bid management and liaison with the prospective client team. Business Development - development of the facade business as well as other wider Technical Specialist Services Portfolio and wider Arup focused on the West geography - Wales, Southwestern England and the South Coast. This will involve development of a business strategy, identifying, creating, tracking and cultivating opportunities, identification of key clients and collaborators and development of relationships, and promotion of the team.At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive.
