POSITION SUMMARY


The Associate Engineer for Kerite Power Cable is based out of Kerite in Seymour, CT. This person is responsible for creating and maintaining design and manufacturing routing information within the company ERP system for Power Cable. The Associate Engineer focuses on Kerite but corresponds with team members from all manufacturing locations to identify and implement best practices for job related systems and processes. This person provides technical support related to product information to Commercial teams.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSManage the Engineering Change Request (ECR) system.Complete approved Engineering Change Requests within ERP System, such as new part setups and modifications to existing parts.Identify opportunities for improvement for loading and formatting ERP System routers (materials, design requirements, and process instructions).Maintains machine capability and run standard charts used for router maintenance.Develops tools to improve efficiency with cable design calculations and cost generation for quotes.Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, including customer specifications and industry standards.Works well with others in cross-functional teams.Can communicate effectively with internal customers.Must be able to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.Participates in continuous improvement activities and LEAN initiatives.Works with the Product Engineer to support Sales with quotes and applicable customer requests.Provides input for applicable engineering and industry standards during review periods.Periodically solicits feedback with internal customers regarding current processes as part of ongoing continuous improvement efforts.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS

2 or 4 year degree required, or equivalent related experience.Microsoft Office skills (Word and Excel minimum)Excellent oral and written communication skills.Working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing is a plus.AutoCAD (or other Computer Aided Drafting software) skills is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDSRequires extended hours working on a computer.
