Your Impact:

Road & Track seeks an associate editor to pitch, report, and write smart automotive stories, including SEO pieces, across platforms, digital and print. The ideal candidate is a deeply engaged, quick but accurate writer and reporter and creative thinker who can produce everything from news write-ups to longer-form pieces.

What You'll Do:

Pitch, report, write, and produce engaging auto stories., primarily for digital. Collaborate with SEO team to ideate and produce content. Cultivate news sources and bring original ideas. Use Google Analytics, Looker, and SEO tools to monitor and track content performance and digital trends daily to constantly adjust pitching strategy and packaging. Collaborate with the art and photo teams to create engaging graphics. Top-edit stories from freelancers and staffers, as needed.

Who You Are:

3 to 4 years of post-grad experience writing and editing cross-platform for consumer publications. Excellent writing and reporting skills. Deep knowledge of and passion for cars and racing. Experience in service journalism, SEO, and analytics programs such as Google Analytics and Looker. Good judgment as to what works for the brand and to drive audience and engagement. Excellent at producing high-quality content. Bridge-builder and problem-solver, excited about the opportunity to build the brand. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, or other relevant area.

The base salary for this role is between $64,000 and $67,000. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York State. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York State, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. 

The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. 

This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
