The primary role for this position is to reduce overall pharmacy related costs by leveraging system volume, optimizing contracts, and driving compliance and collaboration across the system. The position will be responsible for continuous process improvement, benchmarking, and developing and meeting established KPI’s. The position will lead pharmacy related contract and vendor management activities and will recommend contracting and standardization strategies. This role will work collaboratively with the client’s pharmacy leadership and will serve in a matrix reporting structure. This position requires the ability to mentor and lead staff to meet the organizations mission.

**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Oversight of negotiation process and management of Pharmacy Supply Chain contracts
+ Vendor Management: oversees contract compliance, optimizes GPO contracting resources, monitors vendor performance and on-time payment coordination
+ Maintain industry best practices for pharmaceutical product sourcing and contracting
+ Performs analyses of contracting opportunities, calculating savings, and communicating to management
+ Leads negotiations and manages wholesaler contract and vendor performance
+ Directly negotiates with drug manufacturers, as appropriate
+ Routinely identifies clinically equivalent NDC switches that could drive savings
+ Collaborates with the Director of 340B for program compliance
+ Collaborates with Supply Chain contracting on contracts where products co-mingle between med/surg products and pharmacy products, such as IV solutions, IV contrast, etc
+ Responsible for management of Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) and GPO relationships, including serving as a representative on the GPO Pharmacy Council
+ Responsible for assisting Supply Chain leadership with developing and maintaining Strategic Sourcing policies and standard operating procedures
+ Accountable for ensuring communication and collaboration across divisions of supply chain
+ Identifies savings opportunities to meet targeted savings goals and participate in revenue maximizing measures regarding drug use
+ Responsible for on-going monitoring and communication of contract compliance and rebates to leadership and stakeholders
+ Accountable that contract terms and conditions adhere to legal and regulatory statutes through direction from Legal, Compliance and Finance when appropriate
+ Oversight of and leveraging Pharmacy Business Intelligence programs
+ Supports pharmacy operations leaders with strategies to optimize inventory management and logistics
+ Partners with legal representatives to ensure contracts are compliant with applicable federal, state and local statutes and regulations
+ Meets established KPIs, to include contract compliance and savings targets
+ Provides prompt and effective service to internal and external customers
+ Records, maintains, distributes, and prepares documents or information
+ Attends education sessions, workshops, and other continuing education opportunities to enhance or gain new skills
+ Works with members of the team or department in an effective and efficient manner; shares knowledge and serves as a resource in a team environment
+ Fosters collaborative relationships with and between Supply Chain divisions and interdisciplinary value analysis teams and councils
+ Mentor staff to ensure continuous levels of improvement across department and system
+ Assist staff with career path planning
+ Communicates effectively in both oral and written form, as appropriate for the needs of the audience

**Required Qualifications:**
+ 6+ years of experience in hospital pharmacy supply chain management
+ Proficient with wholesaler ordering systems, inventory management, GPO reports, and contract compliance reports
+ Proficient in Excel
+ Proficient in other Microsoft products such as PowerPoint and Word
+ Proven ability to prepare and present executive level presentations, both written and verbal
+ Ability to travel quarterly to Bangor, ME
**Preferred** **Qualifications** **:**
+ Registered (RPh) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) license
+ 6+ years Pharmacy Technician
+ 6+ years of Health System Supply Chain experience
+ 6+ years of Hospital operational and/or hospital cost reduction experience
+ Knowledge of revenue cycle and third party contracts
+ Advanced skills in analyzing large data sets

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
