As a member of the Viatris Galway Leadership Team, the Associate Director of Operational Excellence will lead the development and implementation of an OE program across the Galway facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Identification of potential projects, project prioritization, funding and project management

Lead the deployment of OE training and Lean / Six Sigma principles in production, packaging, maintenance, technical services, supply chain, QA and QC and other support functions

Coach and mentor project managers and project team members in Lean Sigma tools

Continuously improve the site's OE acumen and skillset through delivering workshops/ training and facilitating lean education sessions that align with the needs of the site, in collaboration with the Site Training Lead

Eliminate process waste and facilitate flow by leading Kaizen events to facilitate process improvement and executing on key projects throughout the value chain working with employees to improve processes from technical product launches, through lab management, manufacturing, packaging and shipment to the customer

Embed OE principles into daily operations via the maintaining the Short Interval Control System, implementation of 6S safety and workplace organization systems, engagement of site leadership in Gemba walks, aimed at identifying improvement opportunities and ensuring that the site is meeting the OE objectives and plan for the year

Identify and assign site metric owners to report on and analyse key metrics including Right First Time, Cycle Time and Packaging OEE

About Your Skills & Experience

For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, IT or a related discipline

7 - 10 years working in operational excellence

Strong knowledge of sterile manufacturing processes

Leadership Skills: Strong ability to mentor, develop and lead teams

Communication & Collaboration: Excellent ability to articulate requirements and collaborate cross-functionally to drive compliance and process improvements

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

PMI or similar project management qualification
