**Job Summary**
The Associate Director Financial Aid (Verification) supervises the financial aid verification staff; review U.S. Department of Education (DOE) verification policies; annually complete set up in PeopleSoft for verification to ensure compliance; train FAO staff to ensure policy understanding; oversee the development and sending of communication with students; meet with student and families regarding financial aid matters; resolve student issues and complaints; serve as staff liaison with OIT for the document imaging system; act as liaison with other campus offices regarding student issues.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Supervise and train 4 full time staff members; verify accuracy of work.
+ Review U.S. Department of Education verification policies and changes annually to create the office verification policies and procedures to serve as a guide for staff.
+ Serve on office senior management team; assist in creating, testing and implementing automated financial aid processes.
+ Annually complete verification set up in Campus Solutions per federal regulations and test for accuracy.
+ Oversee resolution of C-flag and other ISIR comments that must be resolved for student awards to be completed and disbursed; run other assigned queries and exception reports and complete required work.
+ Oversee quality control review of previously completed verification files to ensure accuracy.
+ Review verification reports as part of the annual A-133 audit and respond to auditor questions.
+ Meet with students and families, resolve issues, and act as office representative with other campus offices regarding student issues.
+ Performs other duties assigned.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree required with preference in Business, Education or related field.
+ Five (5) years of financial aid experience with federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs.
+ Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Working experience and knowledge of document imaging systems such as Perceptive Content.
+ Three (3) years experience in performing the federal verification process and resolution of C flags.
+ Experience with supervision of multiple staff members.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Knowledge of federal Title IV regulations regarding verification, cost of attendance,
+ Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and others in writing and in person.
+ Knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or other comprehensive student information system.
+ Ability to work independently; excellent communication skills.
+ Knowledge of document imaging systems.
+ Ability to run queries and evaluate information from PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or other similar systems.
