Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$122,250 - $179,300

The Associate Director - Drug Product Contract Manufacturing Category in Development & Manufacturing Procurement is responsible for leading all aspects of procurement of contract manufacturing services. In this position, you will guide the entire sourcing process, from developing strategies and selecting suppliers to negotiating contracts and maintaining relationships. The role involves coordinating the sourcing activities to facilitate a competitive supplier selection process, using market knowledge and analysis to strengthen and enhance the supplier base for designated platforms and therapeutic areas.

Key Responsibilities:Implement procurement activities and provide leadership in the outsourcing of drug product manufacturing to establish a high quality, cost effective supply chain that results in a reliable and predictable external supply chain in agreement with both the development and commercial business strategies.Co-Category Leader for External Drug Product Manufacturing in broader execution within procurement category.Manage supplier relationships with key global suppliers to build and maintain relationships. This includes leadership of both the executive and operational level governance programs which require interaction with high level management and technical resources internal and external to Lilly.Support procurement activities and provide commercial leadership for external drug product manufacturers (sterile filling, suspensions, device assembly, & packaging), as well as, influencing standardization and consistency.Develop, implement, and maintain supplier strategy for assigned categories from category strategy development through sourcing, supplier selection, contract negotiation, contract management, risk management, and cost management.Actively manage contract manufacturer pricing to ensure value acquired through the sourcing process is realized.Lead the review of requirements, development of sourcing strategies, and management of the supplier due diligence process, RFP process oversight, contract and award, and oversight of the contract management process.Lead and discuss terms of the supplier contracts and use contract knowledge to collaborate with business partners if issues or disputes arise.Identify and implement cost/risk reduction and avoidance savings opportunities of $5M or more annually.Build and maintain knowledge of market dynamics in the global pharmaceutical development and manufacturing markets.

Basic Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Business-related field or Bachelor’s Degree in any subject area with relevant industry experience.Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience preferably in pharma/medical device, contract manufacturing, or commercial B2B responsibilities in the pharmaceutical industryQualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Preferred Skills:Excellent ability to communicate; written, verbal, and interpersonal with ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external partnersAbility to appropriately prioritize the value between requirements, schedule, price, and qualityExcellent command of written and spoken English.Experience in handling third party relationships including supplier management/oversight, supplier selection, contracting and problem resolution skillsExperience working directly with global suppliers in commercial, technical or governance capability.Demonstrated experience of category management experience to the value of $50M+Indirect or Direct leadership of teamsDemonstrated experience with the Microsoft Office suite & SAP/Ariba.Analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrating knowledge of business.Demonstrated strong commercial acuity, project management and presentation skills.Self-motivated individual with the ability to act independently, with minimal direct supervision, in a complex multi-organizational environment while maintaining prioritization and ensuring appropriate level of compliance with policies and procedures.

Other Information:This is a full-time position located in Indianapolis, Indiana.Flexibility to support sites and global suppliers in multiple time zones is required.Travel percentage: 5-10%, including international travel.
