Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ **Responsibilities:** GENERAL SUMMARY Provides leadership in nursing practice at the University Health Service while fostering collaboration with the School of Nursing's education and research programs. Works closely with leadership to plan and deliver health services for students and employees. Supports and executes strategic initiatives for the department. Leads and guides staff by coaching, counseling, and, when necessary, disciplining employees to ensure high performance. Oversees job performance by planning, monitoring, and evaluating results. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** + Oversees and directs nursing practice activities within the University Health Service, ensuring seamless coordination of nursing functions with other UHS sections, initiatives, and policies. Responsible for developing job descriptions for nursing staff, as well as planning and scheduling to deliver high-quality nursing services to students, employees, and other patients. + Performs general administrative responsibilities such as correspondence, questionnaires, and inquiries. Develops policies and procedures for nursing practice. Monitors effective allocation of budget. + Participates in the program planning including serving as a member of management committees. + Performs personnel actions such as hiring, firing, performance evaluations, counseling, and initiating other related actions within established policies and procedures. + Provides direct services to students and employees in clinical sessions. Works with student life groups in leading group teaching and/or counseling sessions. Serves as a liaison to University agencies and organizations. + Assesses service level and determines new areas of need. Works with nursing staff toward continued improvement of practices. Initiates and presents continuing education programs, develops quality of care reviews, and provides appropriate supervision of clinical practice. Educates non-nursing staff regarding nursing functions. + Participates in the School of Nursing activities and functions by participating in class sessions, committee work, preparation of papers, studies, and presentations in rounds.
