About the Enterprise Applications at Humber:
Enterprise Applications supports Humber’s academic and administrative outcomes by leveraging digital applications and insights to deliver on them. The Enterprise Applications portfolio includes the organization's enterprise applications (including Student, Learner, HR, Finance and Digital Identity solutions), enterprise architecture, business analysis, testing, data analytics, and reporting functions. Enterprise Application’s team members work closely with our clients across campus to understand their academic and administrative needs and connect the right digital applications and services to meet those needs.
About the Associate Director, Enterprise Applications Role:
Under the general direction of the Director, Enterprise Applications, the Associate Director, Enterprise Solutions is responsible for managing technology products and technical offerings; overseeing the delivery of new and maintenance of existing capabilities. Oversight accountabilities include:
Product Strategy/RoadmapFinancial ManagementBacklog ManagementDefect ManagementDelivery PlanningDelivery ExecutionDelivery Risk ManagementTechnical Risk ManagementTeam ManagementVendor ManagementRelationships/Partnerships ManagementChange ManagementExecutive Updates/ReportingIn addition, the role may also, on occasion, act on behalf of the Director in the Director’s absence.
This role will focus on supporting the enterprise applications products including Ellucian Banner Student and Finance suite hosted on AWS using Oracle databases and middleware. The Associate Director may be required to support other products within the Enterprise Application’s portfolio including SaaS solutions Oracle HCM, Destiny One, CRM solutions including Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics; business intelligence and data analytics solutions including Cognos and Microsoft PowerBI; and custom software extensions written in Java, PL/SQL or utilizing the Microsoft Power Platform.

Leadership- Setting short-term strategy and tactical deliverables; prioritizing, planning, and scheduling activities; recruiting, developing, and retaining talent; leading a team in the execution of plans; mentoring and coaching a team; and reviewing performance and addressing issues.Strategy and Planning- Contributing to the technical vision and cohesion; evolving the technical architecture; authorizing and enabling changes; protecting data and systems from threats; scaling services for capacity and performance; and making build versus buy decisions.Innovation and Adoption - Partnering with the organization to accelerate and drive its business goals; advising decision makers on opportunities and risks; evaluating emerging technologies; collaborating with the academic community on the student experience; evangelizing the effective and profitable use of technology; and participating on committees and on working groups.Client Engagement- Serving as a primary technical point of contact; responding to end-user issues/concerns; working to eliminate barriers and maximize client satisfaction; acting as a brand ambassador for the information technology organization; measuring and reporting on projects, programmes, and services; and acting on behalf of Director in the Director’s absence.Resources and Budget Planning- Overseeing services to ensure functionality; establishing and enforcing standards and practices; identifying and responding to technical risk (whole lifecycle focus); responding to faults/failures to maximize service availability; negotiating and enforcing supplier contracts; and preparing and overseeing budgets.Abilities:
