BASIC FUNCTION:
Provide comprehensive Post Award support to the College of Health Sciences (CHS). Manage the Post Award team for the College of Health Sciences including high level financial management duties. Develop systems to ensure seamless post award support. Train post award staff to independently perform post award financial management duties at an advanced level.
Duties and Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with the CHS Financial Team, CHS Pre- & Post- Award Support team, and Principal Investigators to provide post award support for the College of Health Sciences. Provide critical analysis of financial research data to be used by the Deans, Chief Business Officer, and others.
Coordinate and provide post-award programmatic and administrative support, which includes but is not limited to budgets, data collection, compilation, and report submission, required federal and state reporting, data base development and management, program monitoring, regulatory compliance, and projections.
Work with the Chief Business Officer and Principal Investigators to provide support related to the implementation and monitoring of awards funds. Track cost-share commitments for the College, and effort requirements for Principal Investigators.
Liaise with external sponsors and funding agencies when appropriate.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and college-related research data analyses.
Provide coordination of financial matters pertaining to the administration of research budgets, including reconciling them to approved goals and objectives.
Monitor assigned accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
Prepare and maintain excel spreadsheets for financial reporting and analysis.
Assist in preparation of financial reports per funding agency requirements and guidelines.
Present research and grant-related orientations and workshops and other special research events for faculty and staff as needed.
Analyze statistical trends in research activities and prepare reports.
Supervise and coordinate the work of the post-award support team for CHS.
Stay up to date on all institutional policies and procedures, state, and/or federal laws, award terms, and conditions to maintain compliance.
Coordinate efforts with the pre-award team. Focus primarily on the post-award period but may have responsibilities across the research life cycle.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties as required.
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Personal computers, printers; word processing, database management, and spreadsheet software; InfoEd and other grant preparation software.
Required Qualifications REQUIRED:
1. Master’s degree.
2. Minimum of five years of experience as a research administrator at a research facility and/or in a university setting.
3. Demonstrated experience with federal, state, and private proposal administration, regulations, and guidelines.
4. Demonstrated experience in proposal preparation and grants administration.
5. Demonstrated computer skills (including word processing, spreadsheets).
6. Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
7. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
8. Demonstrated attention to detail.
9. Demonstrated ability to plan, communicate, and oversee work on a variety of research proposals.
10. Demonstrated ability to organize large amounts of data.
11. Demonstrated ability to undertake new initiatives.
12. Demonstrated ability to work in an environment with complex policies and procedures.
13. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED:
1. Demonstrated experience with PeopleSoft and InfoEd.
