Position Overview The Associate Cyber Threat Analyst is an integral member of the Threat Management Team, and is responsible for analyzing logs, detections, alerts, and security telemetry related to Paylocity’s information systems and data. The Associate Cyber Threat Analyst leverages cloud and Security Incident Event Management (SIEM) platforms and tools to analyze alerts designed to detect suspicious activity.? The Associate Analyst will analyze threat data to help the Threat Management Team to determine what response is appropriate. This position will also participate in incident response activities, including assisting Cyber Threat Analysts and Senior Cyber Threat Analysts with forensic analysis to help determine root cause and recommend corrective measures. In addition, the Associate Cyber Threat Analyst will respond to general help tickets and cases assigned to the Threat Management and broader Information Security teams. While the emphasis of this role is to respond to operational alerts and tickets, there may be project-based work and presentations (such as brown-bag sessions) to a larger audience from time to time. NOTE: This role requires participating in an after-hours on-call rotation (scheduled overnights and weekends). To be successful in this role, you must be able to work within the Pacific Standard Time (PST) or Mountain Standard Time (MST) zone, with flexibility to accommodate occasional meetings outside of your core working hours. Primary Responsibilities While other duties may be assigned as needed, the primary duties of the Associate Cyber Threat Analyst will consist of: + Evaluating security threats, assessing the potential impact to the business, and implementing strategies to detect and generate meaningful, actionable security alerts and response activities + Assisting in determining what detections and log sources are most effective to correlate and quickly assess security events? + Applying business intelligence to analyze security telemetry to produce meaningful alerts and reports for potential security incidents + Analyzing detections and log data and classifying any incidents according to the criteria set forth in the Incident Response Plan and Response Playbooks, documenting the incident, and escalating as appropriate + Providing timely situational awareness during significant security incidents through clear and concise communication to appropriate personnel + Working collaboratively with IT and Software Development teams to continually improve our security posture + Performing (under the direction of a Senior DFIR analyst) forensics analysis when necessary + Providing input on emerging threats to executives to update our corporate risk analysis + Evaluating and recommend new security technologies, processes and methodologies + Staying current with threats to the Paylocity IT infrastructure and SaaS applications by continually analyzing threat intelligence sources and techniques utilized by cybercriminals + Responding timely to general cases and tickets assigned to Threat Management + Participating in the Threat Management on-call rotation for off-hours and weekend response to security alerts Education and Experience + High school Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree in InfoSec, Computer Science, or related preferred + 1+ years of experience in an Information Security role + Solid understanding of information security and networking concepts, such as firewalls, patch management, vulnerability scanning, intrusion prevention, SIEM, and endpoint security + Cloud and SaaS experience is a bonus + Experience writing SQL queries and PowerShell scripts and working with APIs are each a bonus + UEBA triage and response experience preferred + Experience with identifying IOCs and potential threat models for insider threat preferred + DLP (traditional, email, and cloud) preferred Paylocity is an equal-opportunity employer. The pay range for this position is $57,300 - $106,300 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
