Job Title:          Associate Accountant II

FLSA Status:    Hourly

Reports To:     Accounting Operations Manager

 

The Associate Accountant II assists Accounting Leadership with administrative, accounting and bookkeeping functions.  This role is responsible for compiling and reviewing financial information, maintaining records, processing accounting support tasks such as accounts receivable and accounts payable related items, as well as performing general administrative tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Deposit checks, post payments to accounts receivable (AR) and prepare cash journal entriesPrepare AR invoices, monitor AR balances, and prepare customer statementsWork with cross-functional team to collect outstanding AR balancesRespond timely to inquiries from vendors, customers, or co-workers and researches and resolves concerns or discrepanciesPrimary point of contact for organization’s support departments for corporate credit cards or accounts receivable related questionsReconcile subledger accounts to general ledger and bank account in accordance with quarter close deadlinesAssist in quarter-end close activities as assignedConducts vendor and location setup and modificationsAssists with vendor payments via check, ACH or virtual cardAssists with training associate accountantsAssists with creation of process documentation and implementation of process improvements as directed by Accounting LeadershipDevelop in depth knowledge of accounting software platforms; assist with system conversions and implementationOther duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree in accounting or finance requiredAt least 2 years of experience in an accounting environmentWorking knowledge of basic accounting principles and practicesWorking knowledge of sales and use tax regulationsExceptional attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work efficiently in highly transactional, fast-paced environment Excellent organizational skillsAbility to communicate effectively across the organization and our vendor communityExpertise in Microsoft Excel Must possess a high degree of confidentialityQuick learner who is comfortable working with multiple software applications

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time   Ability to work independently and in a team environmentBending, stretching, and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. is requiredProfessional presence and proper phone etiquette are requiredOccasional travel may be required

 

WORK SCHEDULE

The Associate Accountant II is a full-time hourly position. The work schedule will include mornings and afternoons. Occasional overtime may be required.
