Job Duties: Associate, Risk Governance with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Serve as a specialist on a team responsible for creating and overseeing the supervisory framework for Sales and Trading, including risk controls, procedures and systems utilized by the firm’s supervisors to perform their supervisory business responsibilities. Work on enhancing risk controls which entails partnering with engineering teams to design, build and operate effective controls in a Straight Through Processing environment. Perform control design and be responsible for the implementation of the control framework as part of new business or activities and migration to strategic architecture. Improve and implement strategic controls, including monitoring for control effectiveness and following up with supervisors to complete actions, as required. Review and respond to regulatory requests related to supervisory controls. Measure and monitor the Firm’s market risk, including monitoring adherence to desk portfolio thresholds.

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Business Administration, or a related quantitative or computational field, such as Computer or Systems Engineering, and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Business Administration, or a related quantitative or computational field, such as Computer or Systems Engineering, and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include one (1) year (if Master’s) OR three (3) years (if Bachelor’s) with the following skills: communicating effectively and efficiently verbally and in writing with stakeholders across multiple businesses and functions, including on risk issues, queries and control improvement projects; working on change management related to Fixed Income and Equities product; working with validating control information, including business line and region-specific control information, creating and streamlining essential reporting, and knowledge sharing; conducting time series analysis and working with large dataset manipulation; and reviewing the control framework for Fixed Income and Equities and identifying areas of improvement to increase control effectiveness.

Salary Range: The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $130,000/year – $150,000/year.
