Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. seeks an Associate, Java Developer in New York, New York.
Analyze, design, code, test, and maintain large-scale, distributed applications. Develop and enhance an in-house system that manages the lifecycle processing of asset servicing events. Conduct all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment. Assist in renovating the Firm’s Global Asset Servicing technology platform from legacy mainframe to distributed technology stack. Responsible for production root cause analysis, performance tuning, testing, raising bugs, minor code fixes, and ongoing maintenance upgrades.
Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $152,000 and $152,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements:
Requires a Master’s in Engineering (any), Computer Science, or related field of study, and two (2) years of experience in the position offered or two (2) years as a Associate, Technology; Software Developer; System Engineer; or related occupation in the technology field. The employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any), Computer Science, or related field of study and four (4) years of experience as an Associate, Technology; Software Developer; System Engineer; or related occupation in the technology field in lieu of a Master’s degree and two (2) years of experience.
Requires two (2) years of experience with: Java; JavaScript; Mockito; JUnit; Git; Jenkins; Command Line; Agile; Object Oriented Design; Unix/Linux; SQL; Spring or Spring Boot; JDBC; IBM DB2; Sybase; H2; DBArtisan; Command Prompt; Scrum; Rally (previously known as Agile Central); REST; and SOAP. Requires one (1) year of experience with: Python; Intellij; Ksh; Gradle; Angular; Containers and Container Orchestration Systems; AppDynamics; Splunk; and Elasticsearch.
